In short
Blindissimo is a blind timer for your home poker tournaments: levels, breaks, players, prize pool and statistics.
Your tournaments stay on your device. The app works offline, with no account and no usage analytics; the publisher receives no data about you. It is free, funded by a Google AdMob banner: the only third-party service it contacts, and the only thing that needs a connection (see "Advertising").
Data kept on your device
The app keeps in the device storage, and nowhere else:
- the tournament structure (levels, breaks, starting stack), your saved structures and your chip set;
- the first names or nicknames of the players you register, their seats, rebuys, eliminations and winnings;
- the history of your tournaments and the season standings;
- your ad consent choices, kept by Google's SDK;
- your settings (language, volume, voice announcements).
Player names are the ones you type: only register people who agree to appear in your statistics, and prefer a first name or a nickname.
Backup, export and sharing
When you ask for it, the app creates a file (full backup, structure, statistics as CSV) or a podium image, and hands it to the phone's share sheet or to the browser download. You choose where it goes (messaging, email, cloud storage): that service then handles the file under its own rules. Nothing is sent to the publisher.
An imported backup replaces the app's data with the file's; it is only read on the device.
Voice announcements
In the Android and iOS apps, the blinds are read by the phone's text-to-speech engine. In a browser, they go through the browser's speech synthesis, which may use an online voice from its vendor (Google, Apple, Microsoft): only the announced text (level and blinds) is then sent to it. You can turn announcements off in the settings.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
A Google AdMob banner shows at the bottom of the home, players, structure and statistics screens and of these pages, never on the tournament clock, and with no full-screen ads. To choose it, measure it and fight fraud, Google receives technical data from the device: IP address and the approximate location it gives, model, system, language, interactions with the ad and, if you allow it, the advertising identifier. None of your tournament data is sent to it.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a consent message shows at first launch: you can accept or refuse personalised ads, then change your mind with the "Manage my ad choices" button on this page. On iPhone and iPad, iOS also asks for tracking permission; refusing it does not stop you from using the app.
Google processes this data as an independent controller, under its own rules: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites
Permissions
- Notifications: tell you when the level changes while the app is in the background or the screen is locked and, on Android, show the level countdown on the lock screen. They are created on the device itself.
- Alarms & reminders (Android): fire these notifications on time.
- Keep the screen on: during a tournament, so the clock stays visible.
- Internet access: loading the ad banner.
- Advertising identifier: on Android, a permission added by Google's SDK; on iPhone and iPad, tracking permission asked once.
The app asks for neither the camera, the microphone, the location nor the contacts.
Web version
The installable web version works the same way: the data stays in the browser storage. As for any web page, the site host receives the IP address and technical browser information when the app loads; it receives none of your tournament data.
What the publisher does not collect
The publisher runs no server that would receive your data: no account, no email address, no usage analytics. Only the ad banner calls on a third party, Google (see "Advertising").
Blindissimo is meant for adults; it is not intended for children.
Retention and deletion
- The data stays on the device until you erase it: delete a tournament, or the whole history, in the Statistics screen; the player directory is drawn from that history.
- Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in the phone or browser settings, deletes everything it kept.
- Files you exported or shared stay where you sent them.
- Data processed by Google for advertising follows Google's rules; the advertising identifier can be reset or deleted in the phone settings.
Your rights (GDPR)
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. As the publisher holds no data about you, these rights are exercised directly in the app and on your device (see above) and, for advertising, with Google: https://policies.google.com/privacy. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority: https://www.cnil.fr
Changes
This policy may change with the app. The date of its last update is shown below; the current version is always published in the app and on its website.
